I'm also leaning towards jumping, since she looks like she might naturally cover the dressage. It's a tricky one, though

Would you dressage or jumping med this? His dressage is shocking, equally neither is strong inscope.

Our MD isn't aware that concrete warehouses don't retain heat (or certainly ours doesn't!) so he's been messaging today flapping about the fact that we mustn't persevere if its too hot and should go home instead. Mum's said we might have to "give up" after UPS come 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly think a healthy amount of winging it is the way to go with this game. Over preparing makes me sad when all my matches flop

Id put money on the "completely prepared" group of people being significantly smaller than the "left it too late and now winging it" group 🤣🤣 I know where I belong every month lol

I'm going to keep this short. I currently have a free art shop in Tier 4 and I am wondering if there is anything in particular I should be working on to try to move up to Tier 3.

I would also love to know if y'all think I am at a point where I should start charging a little bit for them. If so, what price range?

My two latest pieces:

You should definitely start charging!! You've got a great handle on lighting and blending horses into their environment. My main criticism would be your muscling/body prep. You have a lot of lines that don't necessarily correspond with actual anatomical features so I would recommend finding some solid anatomical references and maybe doing a little bit of studying ;D
Easily tier 3 though! ~80-90k per piece

Do you think what I have done with this main horse is better with the muscling and body prep? The piece is obviously far from finished lol

Something that I find very helpful is blurring the background. It can help draw the attention to the horse and makes the peice look a little more finished.

I'd absolutely move up a tier!
I agree with gem on pricing, 80-90k mark is right.
something that really improved your art and fast is your understanding of lighting (I abuse this by making very dramatically lit pieces 24/7). Good shadow placement and well done highlights are the biggest cheat code to having great art. Try studying the stock images you use, figure out where that light is coming from, and how harsh it is between pieces to get an idea of how light effects object. Buckleighh is a brilliant provider for this as the images are always very good quality and well lit!

Lighting is one of my biggest enemies haha
Studying the images is definitely something I should try to do more, I'll try to do that on my next few pieces
Ooh, I love Buckleighh's stock! I kind of cheated on this piece and used a picture of my own horse as stock so the picture wasn't great lol

So sorry for not seeing this! I don't think I got the notification....
Definitely better though!! I like the legs much more. You did still lose some definition in the face but that could also be because it's difficult to shade white areas haha
