I swear any time wild bay pops up in genetics practice I lose my mind... lol I've read the genetics guide(s) on here half a dozen times and I still never can quite keep it straight in my mind, These were my pair and my answers today. What did I miss? 😭 https://gifyu.com/image/blwxc https://gifyu.com/image/blwxW (edited to fix links) Edited at July 19, 2026 10:38 PM by Gaelic Gladiacres

Honestly looks like some sort of bug. Aa agouti is not possible from aa x A+a, but those answers are the ones it's calling correct. Guessing auto correct was at play somehow to even have Aa in there. I know that's the agouti combo my phone favors. I don't see any errors in the combos it's calling incorrect.

Oh good I'm not crazy! 🤣 I did deliberately throw the Aa in there because I thought it was maaaaybe the last permutation I was missing (even though I was 99% sure it wasn't), but it said 32 possible and I only had 16 after the 2xE, 2xA, 2xPrl, and 2xTo combos--I'm recalling that off the top of my head right now, without referencing the original image, but I think those were the only variables? Very strange... Eyrie of the Stars said: Honestly looks like some sort of bug. Aa agouti is not possible from aa x A+a, but those answers are the ones it's calling correct. A+a Is allowed in the game I searched for wild bay gene tested horses and this was the very first on list Aa is not correct if one is A+a and the other is aa ** But I could not find anything wrong with most of those answers, but I am no true expert.

I understand A+ is dominant over I believe most of the other agouti alleles if not all, but with genetics practice it asks for the genes to be written as Az rather than A+ (and At, brown, looks so similar to A+ it will absolutely throw me off which notation I need, so I find myself having to be extra careful when At and Az/A+ are present). My main difficulties are in a) remembering the correct notation for each; b) remembering the dominance hierarchy; and c) ensuring I don't miss a permutation due to the "weirdness" of my brain struggling with A, Az/A+, At, and a combos being outside the norm for the rest of the genetics. The problem here is I deliberately added what I was almost certain were incorrect alleles (Aa) for this pair, and the game somehow decided that was correct and all my actually correct answers were wrong. So as Eyrie said, seems to have bugged on me rather than misunderstanding the agouti genes. But I could definitely use an assist on good ways to remember how wild bay and brown play out because despite reading the guides dozens of times I still struggle. 😭 ZeroZero said: A+a Is allowed in the game I searched for wild bay gene tested horses and this was the very first on list Aa is not correct if one is A+a and the other is aa ** But I could not find anything wrong with most of those answers, but I am no true expert.
